ABOUT US
I-75 Raceway’s new era began in late 2014. Though the history of the speedway dates back several years, the track formerly known as “Murphy Speedway” underwent an overhaul after several attempts to keep the facility open. However, many local drivers had a tough time competing at the 5/8 mile oval, as engine failures were the norm. However, new owners Tim and Angie Kyle look to extend the history of racing in the Sweetwater area, as the track has been cut to a 3/8 mile semi-banked oval.

Through the first several races, fans have been treated to 2, 3, and even 4-wide racing action around the I-75 Raceway. Crate Late Model driver Brad Coffey proved to skeptics that a mostly flat racing surface can still put on great racing. On his way to his first-ever win, he would line up 4th for the feature. At the start, he would drop to the 5th spot of the 20-lap feature. He would ride a couple laps looking to the inside for position, but by the 4th lap, Coffey drove to the middle groove. This is where he would begin his march to the front. Facing an uphill battle, and seeing the race leader a straightaway ahead, Coffey would grip the wheel hard and over the course of the remaining 16 laps, Coffey would drive around the outside for the race lead with just a couple laps remaining. It is only fair the we mention that this feature was 20 laps CAUTION FREE and the race took only 5 minutes to complete.

Racing action just like that can be seen every Saturday night at I-75 Raceway! And it takes place in not one, not two, not three, but 6 regular weekly divisions of racing, with heat races in every division!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: Is Alcohol permitted anywhere on raceway property?
A: NO. I-75 Raceway is an alcohol-free facility. Any individuals caught with alcohol will be escorted from the property.

Q: Can we bring outside food or drinks?
A: Not into the Grandstands. Concession revenue goes toward paying our staff members for their hard work each night. Any extra profit from there goes directly toward cost of electricity, insurance, etc.

Q: Can we bring a cooler?
A: Coolers are only permitted in tier parking or the pit area. No alcohol is permitted anywhere on raceway property.

Q: Do you have a curfew?
A: No, but we don’t want to be there all night either. Feature events are under a time limit and are subject to being cut short.

Q: Can we bring chairs?
A: Yes, chairs are permitted in the grandstand. There is limited space in the stands for a chair, however the hill that the tower rests on is a great location for chairs. Vehicles are strictly prohibited from this area.

Q: Speaking of cars, are they allowed in the pit area?
A: No. There is adequate parking for crew members to park their personal vehicles outside the pit gate.

Q: What is this “Tier Parking” you speak of?
A: Tier parking is a first-come, first serve area for folks to bring their personal vehicles to and lounge out! Got a pickup truck? Sit on the tailgate and watch the action unfold! Don’t worry though, there’s plenty of room!

Q: So where do we go when we turn off the main highway?
A: If you’re going to the grandstands, go right at the fork. If you’re going to the pits or tier parking, turn left. When going to Tier or Pits, form 2 lanes on the road leading up to the pits, with the left lane tier or personal vehicle pit parking only, and the right lane strictly for race teams.

Q: Are kids allowed in the pit area?
A: Yes, however please know that the pit area can be a very dangerous place. Also, please know that the kids must be under control of a parent/guardian at all times. Any children under the age of 18 must have a parent date and sign (clearly) a minor release form for insurance purposes.

Q: How do we go about meeting our favorite drivers?
A: It’s simple! Every Saturday night, we host a meet & greet and ask that all drivers come over and meet fans and maybe obtain a new fan or two! Fans are also welcome to join the drivers in Victory Lane! There is no gate to go through, simply down to the concrete along the fence, and follow it to Victory Lane!

Q: We missed our favorite driver and we want to speak to them after the race!
A: At the end of the night, fans are welcome to head over to the pits and meet a driver or two, free of charge. Beware, however, most drivers will be loading up or even leaving, so be extra careful when wondering through the pits! Most drivers will welcome a fan at the end of the night!

Q: We see victory lane. We don’t see a gate for us in the grandstands. Why is that?
A: Well, you, the fans are important to us, so our victory lane is accessible from the grandstands. Many drivers have family who can’t afford the pits or just wish to sit in the stands. All fans are welcome to go to victory lane and join their favorite driver as they celebrate!

Q: We’ve got a question we don’t see covered here. How do we go about asking it and getting a response?
A: Simply log onto our Facebook Page (http://facebook.com/I75motorspeedway) and ask on our Timeline, or send us a private message there! Don’t do Facebook? Send an E-Mail to info@i75raceway.com.

OK, SO NOW YOU’RE READY TO WATCH A NIGHT OF RACING. YOU JUST NEED TO KNOW WHERE WE ARE!
I-75 Raceway is located 5 minutes north on State Highway 68 off Interstate 75 Exit 60 in Sweetwater, TN. Don’t know where Sweetwater is? It’s about 1/4 distance between Knoxville and Chattanooga (so we’re closer to Knoxville!) Just go to Exit 60 on Interstate 75, turn toward Spring City (Hwy 68 North), and go about 4 miles and you’ll see the sign on the left! Need a landmark? There’s a sawmill on the left, once you get to it, you’ll see a curve to the right just about 1/4 mile past the sawmill, and you’ll see the gates on the left with a gravel road. You should be able to see the original speedway’s catch fencing on the hill!

ALRIGHT, SO WE’VE COVERED INFORMATION, CLASSES, AND LOCATION. SO HOW MUCH MONEY DO WE NEED TO BRING?
I-75 Raceway is a very affordable entertainment choice on Saturday night for the whole family! Grandstand seating is general admission, so you don’t have to worry about seat numbers, row numbers, or sections! Adults just need to bring $10, the kiddos can to sell a couple glasses of lemonade if they’re 6-12 to cover the $5 admission. And 5 & under, well we understand they are just kids, so they’re absolutely free! Now, tier parking is a little more upscale, so that’ll be $15 for adults, kids 6-12 $10, and kids 5 & under still free! Pit admission, well that’s a little more upscale as it’s a busy place! Adults are $25, kids 6-12 $15, and kids 5 & under free. Again, minors under the age of 18 must have a parent-signed minor release form filled out.
